AECO sector experts will be expounding success stories in the application of Building Information Modelling at BIM Xp

European BIM Summit presents BIM Xp, the first-ever free online Congress with workshops about Building Information Modelling applications, which will be held next 15 October through the Zoom platform.

In the course of the day, experts from the AECO sector will be talking about success stories related to solutions developed to forge ahead in the effective application of the BIM methodology.

The organisation will be arranging three virtual rooms where the work sessions will be held, each one lasting 45 minutes. Registered attendees can access all the sessions that they want and will have the chance to read the three collaborative working documents that will be debated on 19 November at the EBS+, the international online Congress of the European BIM Summit.

Following the official Congress opening, scheduled for 9 am, the first two presentations will begin: Automatic project calculation cost using a BIM model, by TeamSystem Construction, and Step-by-step planning in BIM using the PIM Hispalyt ceramic solutions tool, by Hispalyt.

Subsequently, SIMBIM Solutions and Graphisoft Archicad will be addressing the topic of Collaboration between architecture and engineering. At the same time, the presentation on Sustainable waterproofing: MasterSeal 6100 FX will be given by BASF; as well as Two success stories in mechanical installations: BIM 360 collaborative work and case moulding and sizing by ITALSAN.

The following block will feature the presentations on Designing for building or designing thinking about who will use the infrastructure? by Bentley; BIM and water in Catalonia. Implementation at the ACA, by the Agència Catalana de l’Aigua [Catalan Water Agency] (ACA); and IFC in the BIM auditing environment: good practices for exporting and importing, by buildingSMART Spain.

The same organisation will also be taking part in the following block of talks, with The management of IFC models: auditing and visualization. Finalcad will be explaining how The production personnel of a site are key actors in enriching the BIM model; and the SPHERE project by Comet Technology will be presenting Digital Twin for building: new definitions for the AECO sector.

The lunch break will be preceded by the presentation of the collaborative documents that will be discussed on 19 November at EBS+, on the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) data format, the implementation of the ISO 19650 standard and the common data environment for Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).

The afternoon session will begin with the presentations addressing Budget in the cloud, by TeamSystem Construction; Standardisation of information modelling in BIM and its use in quotations. Building and civil engineering, by the Instituto de Tecnología de la Construcción (ITeC); and How to achieve greater profitability in your projects using BIM, by MDT Arquitectura.

In the following session there will be activity in two rooms: BIM in the cloud: data, processes, mobility and collaboration, by RIB Spain; and BIM Environment. An initiative by the Fundación Laboral de la Construcción. Latest developments for 2020.

SIMBIM Solutions and Graphisoft Archicad, with their presentation on Cloud-based collaboration and teleworking for architects, and Zigurat, with Digitalization of infrastructures. The keys of a successful training, will close the BIM Xp workshops.
