The next European BIM Summit Day, which will deal with the “BIM for FM / Facility Management. Where BIM brings direct benefits”, will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 11:00 am at Roca Barcelona Gallery (Joan Güell Street, 211-213, 08028 Barcelona).

Maintenance management in the Anglo-Saxon area, both of public and private buildings and infrastructures, has become a key aspect of the construction cycle.

In the Latin culture, maintenance needs an important way to understand that there are some requirements of owners or managers perhaps more important than space and that will condition more time than the time spent in the planning, project or construction phase.

Patrick MacLeamy, who received the EBS Award in the last edition, made clear in his speech when he picked it up that the Maintenance and Operation phase was the recipient of all the efforts that were made during its project and construction – he added that we should start think of “assembly” rather than “construction” to facilitate that maintenance. The BIM-BAM-BOOM concept defined by MacLeamy with his graphic was eloquent.

Addressing this last phase of the cycle of a real estate development-understood as the process to obtain a hotel, a hospital, an office or a rental house- is the objective of this session, the last EBS Day before the celebration of the European BIM Summit in its fifth edition on April 11 and 12.
