The European BIM Summit of Barcelona increases its success every year because in two days it is able to summarize everything that has happened in the different continents and especially in Europe in the most advanced sector of the methodologies that make 4.0 construction possible. This edition, as the icing on the cake, will have two presentations certainly disruptive in this regard.
We have all heard about Blockchain, but few people understand which are its values when we refer it to construction. While we look at it from the corner of our eye, in the United Kingdom there is an association of more than 80 companies and institutions that put it into practice within their work processes. The Blockchain Construction Consortium will present through its director, Abel Maciel, the evolution of this assessment methodology and “notarized” contracts, certifications, licenses, in your country.
On the other hand, also the concept of Machine Learning grows in popularity. The application of this methodology using the digital data and metadata of BIM makes it very easy for computer systems to learn what happens in a project, in its construction or in its operation phase. One of the most groundbreaking startups, ALICE (a spin-off from a university) will show for the first time in Europe the application based on motorizing data from BIM models.
