On October 4, 2018, CAATEEB organized a new European BIM Summit Day session at the Col·legi d’Enginyers of Camins, Canals i Ports in Barcelona, aimed at the world of engineering in general as a panorama of the latest developments in this sector.

Josep M. Cuesta i Cuesta, Head of railway signaling systems, train protection and automatic driving, FGC-Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya
- BIM at Carreteres de la Generalitat de Catalunya. Case study: C-17 Centellles pilot project
Ferran Camps, Technical Inspection, Subdirection of Projects and Expropriations, Generalitat de Catalunya
- BIM and IFC in infrastructures. Case study: RoadBIM
Agustí Jardí, Founding partner, APOGEA, and David del Villar, Technician of the Department of topography and layout of Sacyr
The day focused on showing how the news has taken infrastructures to the forefront. The approval of new investments and the exit of the crisis are transforming a panorama that now sees new possibilities of incipient growth.
The public administrations, from the Ministry of Public Works to the public roads departments of town halls, are integrating BIM into their contracting and construction follow-up processes. Great engineering companies already offer their services internationally but now also the “Little BIM” reaches small engineering demonstrating a very high flexibility in incorporating these new processes. Together with the presentation of the new Infrastructure guides in this sense, they are already compelling the entire Civil Engineering sector to urgently adopt the BIM, and precisely this was what took centered the conference.
