Associate professor, programme leader & chartered architectural technologist
Dr Suha Jaradat is an Associate Professor & Programme Leader for Architectural Technology at the School of Engineering & Built Environment, Edinburgh Napier University where she leads the strategic development & delivery of a suite of undergraduate & postgraduate programmes. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT), a qualified Architectural Engineer & Member of the Jordanian Engineers Association. She has supervised & examined PhD projects & acted as a Panel Expert in programme validation & review events.
She was a Course Director of Quantity Surveying Consultancy at the School of Engineering, Kingston University London. She worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Reading, School of Construction Management & Engineering after completing her PhD at the Design Innovation Research Centre. Her PhD was funded by the Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) & investigated Building Information Modelling (BIM) in architectural practices in the UK & USA. She was involved in large studies including the London 2012 Olympics Games Construction Project.
She also holds an MSc in Design & Digital Media from the Department of Architecture, the University of Edinburgh. Her specialism is BIM & professionalism in digitally-mediated construction projects. Her research interests include Building Information Modelling (BIM), Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM), sustainable design & refurbishment, architectural education & practice. The outcome of her research is published in international journals & conferences. She is also a reviewer for research grants & international refereed journals in the built environment.
