Dr. Mohamad Kassem is a Senior Lecturer and Enterprise Fellow at Teesside University (UK). He is an expert researcher in Building Information Modelling (BIM). Dr. Kassem has expertise that spans from strategic BIM policy development to technical BIM solution scoping and implementation.
Dr. Kassem was the appointed EU BIM consultant to the Brazilian Government with the responsibility of advising about a strategic BIM roadmap in collaboration with key national stakeholders. Dr. Kassem is currently working alongside a number of international and European committees on BIM policy issues.
Dr. Kassem has published many articles and papers on BIM policies, processes and technologies and he hold, in collaboration with a team within Teesside University, several research grants from British and international funding bodies. He is a Principal Investigator on an international BIM research project (2014-2018) funded by the Qatar Foundation ($ 940 k) and the supervisor on five Knowledge Transfer Partnerships ($ 1 m) funded by the Innovate UK. Dr. Kassem also delivered several public presentations in Belgium, Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Spain and the United Kingdom.
