The third edition of the European BIM Summit (EBS) will be held on the 25th and 26th of May 2017, change of dates that positions the EBS as the benchmark event on BIM in Europe.
EBS 2017 will feature an innovative program. The guest country will be France, the European nation that has made one of the most significant investments and that has as a national strategy the digitization of the economy, with impact expected in all industrial sectors. With a budget of 20 millioneuros, it has initiated programs to become a leader of the continent and that will be presented in Barcelona, such as the project MinnD -a interoperable information model for the creation and management of French infrastructures -, or EDUBIM, an integration project of BIM training for all agents involved in the life cycle of a building.
The program will also be intense, an essential feature of the event in its previous editions, since it must meet the goal of providing world-wide decision-makers an updated and global overview of what the BIM is meaning in the European process.
During the conference, the EU BIM Task Group will show the evolution of the strategies proposed in Catalonia, the Basque Country and the rest of Spain. As every year, the BIM meetings of companies in the construction sector will be held, along with the BIM Marketplace, the BIM Brokerage and BIM New Business Models Elevator Pitch, that will take place to help visualize new businesses and services listed in Europe in the BIM environment connecting contractors, investors and entrepreneurs in this new economy.
The afternoon sessions will be devoted to case studies. There are 12 cases scheduled to be presented and analyzed by the authors. So far BIM Little , Big BIM and Civil BIM projects were covered, but this edition will also provide FMBIM cases, in which the effects of BIM during a building or infrastructure, management and maintenance process, known as Facility Management, will be studied.
Throughout the day, technical implementation workshops will be held on new hardware, software and collaborative processes for BIM, VDC, BEP and Lean Management in Construction. There will also be specific sessions with BIM construction managers, manufacturers and construction materials industrialists that complement the program.
European institutions will attend the summit the last day to explain their approach to BIM, and, as in every edition, the latest research on the application of BIM will be presented. Spanish and international user groups, and the managers of the Technical Summit of Building Smart International will offer a comprehensive overview of what is happening right now in the construction sector through real-world applications and working groups.
European Summit BIM will continue to organize every month a BIM European Summit Day in different cities offering opportunities to be in contact with different aspects of BIM . There have already been sessions dedicated to collaborative processes, quality in the project and BIM Europe, among others, and other days are going to be organized about safety and health and BIM, the construction industry and BIM, BIM construction, GeoBIM or new BIM services. Professionals, technicians, companies and public administration management are invited to attend and participate.
Welcome to the BIM World!
