Elisabeth Hamdouch is the Deputy Head of Unit for Clean Technologies and Products in the European Commission Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs since 2014.
In this role, she principally oversees DG GROW’s activities in the fields of construction products and policy, as well as industrial competitiveness aspects of energy and climate policies.
Prior to this role, she held several positions in the fields of industrial policy and construction in the European Commission, leading on issues of resource efficiency and international relations. She also worked for several years in Singapore, first as an economist for the British Commonwealth and Foreign Office and as the Executive Director of the European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. She also worked for the German Federal Office for Foreign Trade in Brussels and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in South Korea.
Elisabeth Hamdouch earned an M.A. in European Economic Studies from the College of Europe, after finishing undergraduate studies in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Bayreuth and Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg in Germany.
